Perfect. Beyond reproach. Favorite. How does one attain the status of Golden Child? This is personal and subjective, but I’m sure we’d agree in a way every child is a golden child. Sadly every child also eventually becomes a teenager, but that’s an issue for another time.
Every child, like every barrel of whiskey, is special and unique, but not all barrels of whiskey are created equal. Two barrels can be filled on the same day with the same whiskey, be aged in the same area of a rickhouse and somehow taste different. One barrel has better tasting whiskey. I wanted Fathertime’s Golden Child to be a single barrel select program focused on finding those better barrels. Golden Child is an outlet for the gem, the honey barrel, that demands a special designation.
Every Fathertime Golden Child barrel goes through a rigorous selection process. Not only do I taste through every barrel (I love my job!), but I’ve also engaged the best palates in the bourbon world to help with this selection. This hands-on boutique process ensures a level of consistency and quality a discerning bourbon geek like me craves. I hope you enjoy this bottle with people you cherish and, if they are of age, a Golden Child.

Which distilleries are the barrels from?
I selected six standout Kentucky barrels, each from a different distillery – with different mash bills, ages and proofs – and named them in honor of my mother and her children. Like siblings, no two are exactly alike.
As for what which exact distilleries they are, you’ll have to take a guess!

I have severe arthritis now, but yes I personally signed each and every bottle.

Who is behind Fathertime?
